I started on this one... let's see... there's an early version in a post dated August 2008, so it's hardly been speeding hungrily towards the finish line, has it? Still, all the better for being able to rethink and refine it as I go along. Ideally, I'd never finish an illustration. You're always learning new tricks.
Thought the early version was good but this is even better, the disposition of areas of solid black, tone and areas where everything's white with just a grey brushline is really exciting.
